Overview
Velvert® is a antimicrobial barrier dressing made from a polymeric sponge infused with patented antimicrobial formulations that provide a robust defense against infections.
Each component in the formulation works synergistically to accelerate the natural healing process by creating an optimal wound environment.
Velvert® has demonstrated effectiveness against gram positive bacteria, gram negative bacteria, fungal species, yeast species as well as superbugs like MRSA, VRE, MDR Acinetobacter baumannii, ESBL producing Escherichia coli and NDM-1 producing Klebsiella pneumoniae in vitro, offering an advanced solution for challenging wounds.

Application Method
- Step 1: Open Dressing - Extract the sterile dressing from the primary packing.
- Step 2: Moisten with sterile water or saline. Do not use excessive quantities as the water present in the dressing cannot be removed.
- Step 3: Ensure that the side opposite to the marked side of moist dressing is applied on the wound, i.e., the marked side faces upwards after the application.
- Step 4: Apply Velvert® on wound site making sure no part of the wound is left exposed. You may cut Velvert® to ensure it covers the wound properly.
- Step 5: Apply a sterile secondary dressing on top of Velvert® to ensure that it stays in place during the course of application.
Note: The dressing needs to be changed on or before 4th day as per clinician discretion. It is not recommended to be left unchanged beyond 4 days. Moistening of the dressing prior to use should be done as per clinician discretion.
