How Make In India surpasses everyone’s expectations in terms of quality?
How Make In India surpasses everyone’s expectations in terms of quality?

The month of May in the year 2014 was a revolution in our country when the Modi Government came to the power. The expectations of the citizens grew like never before with positive hope of changes for country’s growth and advancement. With the passage of time, the government announced astounding initiatives to make the country strong for rapid growth and development. To name a few initiatives are; Digital India, Clean India Campaign, Toilet Building Campaign, Make in India and many more.
Let’s talk about Make in India.

What Make in India Initiative is all about?
This initiative was launched on September 25th 2014 with a prime objective of making India a global manufacturing hub, by inviting multinational and national companies to manufacture their products within the country. This would benefit our nation by strengthening the economy as well as facilitating job creation, fostering innovation and enhancing skill development.

Product Quality for Indian Consumers
The Government is making enormous efforts to raise the contribution of the manufacturing sector of the country but the prime concern of the consumers is Quality. It is very difficult to change the psychology of the Indian consumers from using an international brand to switching over to domestic products.

These days we have observed remarkable improvement in product quality. It’s a fact that with the standard quality accreditations one can see that the products manufactured in India are as good as competing for international brands. Consumer experiences shared in terms of reviews and testimonials after using domestic products are sufficient to prove the case.

Will Make in India help to Strengthen the Economy and raise Product Quality as per International Standards?

Let’s try to understand it with a story.

Once there was an underdeveloped and overcrowded village. Many people were starving to earn their daily bread due to unavailability of resources. To make the way out of these problems villagers had a word with a head of the village. He provided free food to the people, which made them lethargic. They got used to this and spent their entire life still not being able to earn a lively hood. Many head villagers came and went but the situation remained the same.

After a long time a new village head came, he was qualified and clever. He announced that he will not give free food but will give opportunities to earn for your own food.

The new village head called outsiders to the village and persuaded them to make the products in the village. Once they started a factory, the village head inspired the villagers to learn the technology to manufacture new products. While learning the new technology they started earning money.

Gradually, the village head started encouraging the villagers to start their own ventures. With the passage of time, their dependency reduced on outside products and they began to flourish by themselves.

The above storyline matches the existing scenario of our country in one or the other. With the Make in India Campaign initiative, the government is trying to open the gates of opportunities within India by finding top talents to learn and lead the new technological innovations. With the help of skilled mindset and consistent learning, the country will utilize and deliver the products that surpass quality standards put forth by fellow consumers.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT DRESSING

Chronic wounds are wounds that fail to heal within the expected time frame, typically lasting more than four weeks. They can arise due to underlying conditions such as diabetes, prolonged pressure, or venous insufficiency. Common types include diabetic ulcers, bed sores, and venous leg ulcers.

Managing chronic wounds presents significant challenges, including a high risk of infection, slow healing, and patient discomfort. The right dressing plays a crucial role in creating an optimal healing environment, reducing complications, and improving patient outcomes.

Types of Chronic Wounds and Their Dressing Needs

Diabetic Ulcers

  • A Diabetic foot ulcer is a debilitating complication of diabetes mellitus. It refers  to an open sore or wound, commonly developing on the feet of people with diabetes.
  • Require moisture balance, infection control, and non-adhesive properties to protect fragile skin.

Bed Sores

  • Bed sores are ulcers which usually develop gradually on the skin and the tissue underneath. Occurring mostly in bed ridden patients, bed sores arise on the skin covering bony areas of the body such as hips, back, tailbone, etc.
  • Demand dressings that redistribute pressure and effectively manage exudate to prevent further skin breakdown.

Venous Leg Ulcers

  • Venous leg ulcers are chronic wounds affecting mostly older adults. They primarily result from prolonged venous insufficiency, which leads to tissue breakdown in lower extremities.
  • Benefit from a combination of compression therapy and absorbent dressings to address venous insufficiency and excessive fluid.

Infected Chronic Wounds

  • Chronic infected wounds are those wounds that do not even start to heal after 4 to 12 weeks despite treatment. They develop due to poor blood circulation, weak immune system or co-morbid conditions such as diabetes.
  • Require antimicrobial dressings to manage bacterial load and prevent further complications.

Key Dressing Options:

  • Features silver for strong antimicrobial action.
  • Suitable for infected or high-risk wounds, particularly bed sores.

Velsap™

  • Designed for moderate to heavily exuding wounds.
  • Provides effective fluid management, reducing the need for frequent dressing changes.

How to Choose the Right Dressing?

Selecting the right dressing requires a comprehensive assessment of several factors:

  • Wound Type: Identify whether the wound is a diabetic ulcer, pressure sore, or venous ulcer.
  • Exudate Levels: Choose absorbent dressings for heavily exuding wounds and moisture-retaining options for dry wounds.
  • Infection Status: Use antimicrobial dressings for infected or high-risk wounds.
  • Patient-Specific Considerations: Factors such as mobility, skin sensitivity, and underlying health conditions must be considered.
Healthcare professionals play a crucial role in guiding dressing selection based on individual wound characteristics and patient needs.

Additional Tips for Chronic Wound Care Management

  • Proper Cleaning & Debridement: Keeping the wound clean and removing dead tissue enhances healing.
  • Regular Monitoring & Dressing Changes: Assessing the wound regularly and changing dressings at the right intervals prevent complications and ensure steady healing.

Chronic wounds require tailored solutions to support healing and prevent complications. Choosing the right dressing—ensures optimal wound care and faster recovery.

Applications of Velfix®࿯ T Film in Different Wound Types

Wound care has evolved significantly with the development of advanced dressings that cater to various needs. One such innovation is the Velfix® -T Film, a transparent film dressing made from high-quality polyurethane coated with adhesive on one side. This dressing offers a multitude of benefits, making it suitable for different wound types. In this blog, we will explore the various applications of Velfix® -T Film in wound management.

Waterproof Fixation of Wound Dressings:

One of the primary applications of Velfix® -T Film is its use as a waterproof fixation dressing. The film’s impermeability to liquid, water, and bacteria ensures that the wound remains protected from external contaminants. This feature is particularly beneficial for patients who need to shower or come into contact with water during their daily activities. The Velfix® -T Film acts as a barrier, keeping the wound dry and preventing infection while allowing moisture vapor and gases to pass through, promoting a healthy healing environment.

Managing Acute Wounds such as Abrasions and Lacerations:

Acute wounds, such as abrasions and lacerations, require prompt and effective management to prevent complications. Velfix® -T Film is an excellent choice for these types of wounds due to its flexibility and ease of application. The film conforms well to irregular wound contours, providing a secure and comfortable fit. Its transparent nature allows for easy monitoring of the wound’s progress without disturbing the healing process.

Using Velfix® -T Film for Postoperative Incisions:

Postoperative care involves protecting surgical incisions from infection and promoting optimal healing. Velfix® -T Film provides a protective barrier over postoperative wounds, reducing the risk of contamination while allowing for visual inspection without the need to remove the dressing. Its transparent nature facilitates monitoring of the wound site, ensuring early detection of any signs of infection or complications.

Protecting Minor Burns:

Minor burns can be painful and susceptible to infection. Velfix® -T Film offers a gentle and effective solution for protecting these wounds. Its hypoallergenic adhesive ensures secure fixation without causing discomfort, while the film’s barrier properties shield the burn from external irritants. The dressing also promotes a moist environment that supports faster healing and reduces scarring.

Benefits in Treating Superficial Pressure Ulcers:

Superficial pressure ulcers, often caused by prolonged pressure on specific areas of the body, require careful management to prevent further tissue damage. Velfix® -T Film‘s transparent and breathable design makes it ideal for these wounds. The dressing protects the ulcerated area from friction and trauma while allowing clinicians to monitor healing progress easily. Its moisture-retentive properties aid in promoting tissue regeneration and preventing infection.

Hence, Velfix® -T Film stands out as a versatile option in wound care, offering benefits across a range of applications. From waterproof fixation and postoperative wound management to protecting burns and treating pressure ulcers, this transparent film dressing provides a conducive environment for healing while ensuring patient comfort. Its ease of use, breathable design, and hypoallergenic properties make it a valuable tool in modern wound care practices.

Whether used in hospitals, clinics, or home care settings, Velfix® -T Film exemplifies innovation in wound management, enhancing patient outcomes and quality of care. For healthcare providers seeking reliable solutions to enhance wound healing, Velfix® -T Film proves to be an indispensable choice.
